The Lotus Clark Type 25 Elise SC was released as a special edition model for 2008. 50 examples of the car were created, with 25 allocated for the UK market, and the other 25 being sent to various dealers in mainland Europe. Other markets have to be content with the standard Elise SC.

The Clark Type 25 Elise SC was created to
commemorate the 40th Anniversary of legendary Lotus
racing driver Jim Clark at Hockenheim in 1968. The
number 25 recalls his number of F1 wins and also the
Type number of his 1963 Lotus F1 car.
The Lotus Clark Type 25 Elise SC draws upon many
styling cues of Clark's Type 25 race car. Finished
in British Racing Green with a yellow stripe along
the centre, the car features black and silver
colored Lotus Sport wheels and a removable hard top.
Inside, the black leather sports seats trimmed in
red leather were inspired by the Team Lotus Formula
1 cars of the era. A retro wooden gear knob finishes
off the cosmetic package.

Powering the Lotus Clark Type 25 Elise SC is a
Toyota sourced, 1.8 litre supercharged engine with
variable valve timing. This engine offers the
benefit of either economical driving, or full-on
performance depending on the drivers mood. Maximum
horsepower output is for the Elise SC is 217 hp.
This allows the car to reach 60 mph in 4.6 seconds,
on its way to a 148 mph top speed.

traction control, ABS and sequential shift lights,
however all the driver aids are included to improve
the driving experience and do not intervene unless
